He began his life the 3rd son of an indentured servant. While accompanying the [[King Tristan]] and [[Queen Isolde]] on a boar hunt, Joshua risked his life by jumping in front of a [[Beastman]] who attacked the Queen. Joshua was critically wounded and the Queen secretly healed him. The touch of [[Esmara]]'s grace awoke in Joshua a connection to the light. He took the surname Beacon and secretly trained with [[Paladin]]s in Oakendale. When the King declared independence and created [[Freedom's March]], Joshua joined the [[King's Shield]]. He became the squire to [[Reliquary]], who later became one of [[Ya'Ria]]'s [[Ascended Heroes]].

Oct 1013. Word reached the Heroes of Freedom's March that Joshua had been discovered alive. They traveled to the location to bring Joshua back only to discover he was tainted by demon magic. [[Dr. Desmond]] attempted to reason with Joshua, only to be pulled into the foggy crypt, where Joshua killed him. In doing so, the demonic magic holding Joshua began to flicker. The next into the crypt to try to reason with him was [[Caradwyn]]. The demonic magic flickered faster and as the corrupted Joshua slew the bard, the true Joshua broke his demonic chains and turned on the evil creatures infesting the crypt. Joshua slew several of the creatures and was killed in doing so. [[Esmaraelda]], who had sneaked into the crypt in search of Desmond, stumbled upon Joshua's body and dragged him out where he was brought back by [[Seven]]. When the crypt was finally cleansed, only a battle dingy medical coat and a sweat dampened pith helmet were found where Dr. Desmond had been. Esmaraelda gathered these items and carried them to her vardo in the hopes that Dr. Desmond could be returned.

The evening progressed and a horrid creature called a [[Sluah]] came back to the town once to more to claim the dreams of all who resided there. [[Caradwyn]] and Joshua, knowing the price for banishing such a creature, proceeded to light [[Guideen]]'s [[Candle of Hope]]. Joshua Beacon sacrificed his soul, now freed of corruption, to light the candle and in doing so banished the [[Sluah]] from Ya'Ria. His sacrifice is now and forever shall be known as [[Beacon's Sacrifice]].
