The Sleeping Otters were originally formed as a group of like-minded adventurers. Libby Sundaze, the founder, intended the group to simply look out for one another, and to keep each other safe. It is in this intention that Ms. Sundaze decided on the name of the group, The Sleeping Otters, based upon the Sleeping habits of certain species of Sea Otters (namely, the tendency for them to hold one another’s paws while sleeping in order to prevent floating away from one another)

Within the following months, the physical House of the Sleeping Otters was construction on the southern shores of Lake Swindon. This is a huge, gaudy construction that displays the “House”’s brashness and vanity in every brick, plank, and automated guard in the territory. It is here that, unfortunately, one most name them a House, and thus, the name change (to “House of”) occurred.

Over the coming months, the house would see the coming of major figures, such as Jagaimo Kushi, Crown Prince of Cawold, and the departure of (at that time) Lady Sundaze, whose title then changed to reflect her non-noble status. Shortly thereafter, the House elected Lord Cobble, a newcoming member, as their Head of House.

The tenure of Lord Cobble also began the house’s political campaign, with many members propagandizing for further freedoms and release of responsibilities for the adventurers of Eriyond.

It is yet to be seen how long until this upstart house collapses, disappearing with as quickly as it came.
