==The Beginning== The first of the Gods was Arcainium, whose worship has fallen away. He stood upon the lifeless rock that was Ya'Ria. He despaired, for with his near limitless power he was lonely. His despair caused a single hair to fall from his head. Where the hair touched ground, life sprang forth. Arcainium had discovered that he could create life. He then proceeded to create the flora and fauna of the world. ==The races of Man== Arcainium was still alone, so he dug deep within his power and he created man (many scholars argue that the first race was not man but in fact the Lightborn). These thinking creatures finally gave Arcainium the camaraderie he desired, however he had endowed his new creation with a powerful ability. He found that Man had taken some of his power of creation and they now could create Gods and Goddesses of their own. ==The Elder== Where Man huddled in fear of darkness, pain and death, power collected and Rakus was born. He sprang forth as aged and as solemn as the tomb. He took some of his power and formed the first Elder race the DeadBorn. Man feared death. This simple statement summed ages of man's history. When the first lie was spoken Syndiliss was created (many ancient texts disagree, as there is record of Syndiliss as a diety of knowledge and magic until near the second age.) As a response to that lie, a man slew his brother on a field of combat. This created Haun-Taurus, God of War. For years these Elder Gods ruled man. ==The Fae== There is no knowledge of the origins of the Fae. None of the Gods take credit for their creation, in fact the Gods hold little power over them. Some feel that the Fae are perhaps made of the same aether from which Arcainium created himself. The Fae are not Gods, but as a major Power, they are included in this work. ==The Nature Gods== As man developed and grew, he began to want and desire more than the narrow scope of the Elder gods. Art and music had become common and broke from the praise and worship of the Gods. Codladh began gaining power. He was the first of the Gods to not spring from belief and aether, though few recall his origins. Titem came later, but she still reveres the balance and rejects both the Elder and Younger Pantheons. ==The Younger Gods== When the followers of the Dark Church went to war with the peaceful followers of Codladh many farmers and tradesmen took up tools of war in defense. A man, said to be a simple farmer, went to war and sheltered those weaker than himself. He was a shield for the weak. His name was Vhundarus and it was he that ascended as the first God of man. His Ascension led to one of the worlds bloodiest battles as he and Haun-Taurus warred back and forth. This wholesale destruction is what led to the creation of Titem, who is said to have been a widow of one slain in that war. As Man struggled to feed itself following the First God War, medicine and Alchemy became important. A woman who had learned the secrets of Codladh's blessing and Rakus's mastery of life and death became the second God of man, Esmara ==Modern times== Throughout the years stories of Ascensions have been heard, and more Gods and beings of Power have been added to various Pantheons. These stories are universally untrue as none are capable of Ascending anymore. ArchPrelate Therion Greavun 745 3E
